Fall is almost here and it’s the perfect time to learn to throw pottery on the wheel! I’ve been throwing on the wheel for 10 years and have set up my home garage studio with two wheels, a kiln, and all necessary supplies. Throwing clay is a sensory experience like no other. Our bodies were meant to interact with the earth and this is one incredible way to reconnect to our fitra.
Classes will be tailored to the level of the students. For beginners, expect to learn the basics of throwing, trimming and glazing. Practicing pottery is about more than just producing pottery - it’s about becoming a potter. Class includes 20 pounds of clay. Extra clay may be purchased.
Open Studio is also included - Tuesdays 11 am - 2 pm and Wednesdays 5 pm - 8pm.
Please note, cleaning the space after you work is expected. Work will be completely finished within a month of class finishing, at which time students are expected to pick up work.
