The Art was in the Living - Fall Weekly Classes for Women

$280.00
  • Dates: Sundays, 7 weeks October 5 - November 30

  • 10 am - noon

  • Women only - 16+

There is so much beauty and barakah in our lives that we can unlock by creating with intention. I have over 10 years of experience with all of the home arts we will be practicing together and I’m so excited to share what I’ve learned over the years. There’s a reason that historically women have gathered communally to work. Let’s reconnect to what our ancestors knew.

Lessons by Week:

  • Natural Dyeing featuring indigo

  • Knitting

  • Embroidery featuring Kufic cross stitch

  • Harvesting resources from pre-loved materials (yarn from sweaters, fabric from clothing, etc.)

  • Cold process Soapmaking and Lip balm making

  • Quilting

  • Ceramics on the wheel

Each class will include 2 hours of hands-on instruction and materials. Resources will also be given for a deeper dive if this is an area of interest for you. The order of classes will be partially determined by weather and weeks off will be included to accommodate a local halaqa schedule.

*Class will only be held if there are a minimum number of registrants.
