The Art was in the Living - Spring Weekly Classes for Women

$280.00
  • Dates: Sundays, 7 weeks April 5 - May 17*

  • 10 am - noon

  • Women only - 16+

*DISCLAIMER - my father is currently in hospice, so there’s a strong possibility that I may need to cancel one or more classes - if this is the case, all participants will be refunded the value of any classes canceled.

There is so much beauty and barakah in our lives that we can unlock by creating with intention. I have over 10 years of experience with all of the home arts we will be practicing together and I’m so excited to share what I’ve learned over the years. There’s a reason that historically women have gathered communally to work. Let’s reconnect to what our ancestors knew.

Lessons by Week:

  • Natural Dyeing featuring indigo

  • Knitting

  • Embroidery featuring Kufic cross stitch

  • Harvesting resources from pre-loved materials (yarn from sweaters, fabric from clothing, etc.)

  • Cold process Soapmaking and Lip balm making

  • Quilting

  • Ceramics on the wheel

Each class will include 2 hours of hands-on instruction and materials. Resources will also be given for a deeper dive if this is an area of interest for you. The order of classes will be partially determined by weather.

*Class will only be held if there are a minimum number of registrants.
